I pulled on my walking boots, braved the ice cold wind blowing off the North Sea and meandered my way along a short section of the John Muir Way around Skateraw Harbour.

A cobweb clearing experience, and despite the darkening skies and sleet showers a great way to spend an hour or so on a Sunday afternoon, hope you like the pics...

If you are interested it's here (D):

  1. Great pics

I must go down to the seas again to the lonely sea and the sky,
And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,
And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sails shaking,
And a grey mist on the sea's face and a grey dawn breaking.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
    Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume and the seagull crying.

I must go down to the sea again, to the vagrant gypsy life,
To the gull's way and the whale's way where the wind's like a whetted knife:
And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow rover,
And a quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.

  2. Clara Niko is not romantic, its just the cold seabreeze has got into his head. They say to much salt air is bad for the brain, well Niko has just proven this is the case.

Nice pics clara, glad you wrapped up well. I know the part of the walk way around Gullane, Ive not so much walked it but ran along it. The football club i play for have us training and running up and down the sand dunes in the Summer followed by a 5 km run along part of the path.

Might take a mosey along the path the next time my other half and i have a free day together, both of us love walking and often walk from Leith along the water of Leith walkway to Roseburn then have a bite to eat in the Murrayfield then catch the bus back to Leith.

AMW Shows the difference between sugar and vinegar..

I'm romantic in the way MARV is from Sin City

Marv: The night's as hot as hell. It's a lousy room in a lousy part of a lousy town - I'm staring at a goddess. She's telling me she wants me. I'm not going to waste one more minute wondering how I've gotten this lucky. She smells like angels ought to smell, the perfect woman... the Goddess. Goldie. She says her name is Goldie.

Marv: I'm on my feet for about ten minutes before the cops kick them out from under me. They don't ask me any questions. They just keep knocking the crap out of me and waving a confession in my face. And I keep spitting blood all over it and laughing at how many fresh copies they come up with. Then along comes this worm assistant district attorney who turns the recorder off and says if I don't sign their confession, they'll kill my mom. I break his arm in three places and I sign it.

Marv: Hell's waking up every goddamn day and not even knowing why you're here.

  4. AMW, the beaches around Skateraw and East Barns are worth a visit - you have to avert your gaze from the Nuclear Power Station and the Cement works - but really are worth visiting.

Niko, one of my favourite movies, Marv's character is one of many shades and depths...
